Peace students paid tribute to Miss Pugh in their student newspaper, Peace Times, Volume VI, Number 4, December 1959:  "We Salute You, Miss Mabel Pugh... For your helping hand and your guidance, when we needed you most, that strengthened us and set us on the right path . . . for that quick smile whenever we passed you in the halls . . . for your talent and perseverance that could only give us memories to treasure . . . for your ability to find and develop hidden talent. . . .  These, and not just your success in the art world, are the things that will make you live in the hearts of Peace girls forever and gave us the inspiration to pay tribute to you in the Peace Times."
